When a baby first opens it’s eyes and takes it’s first breath, there are no complex thoughts – simple instinctual responses are all that are there. The thoughts have no words behind them, they are just basic concepts: hunger, satiation, discomfort, comfort, pain, relief , etc. As this is going on, the senses that have just awakened to a new world start soaking up information. And simple correlations start to be realized: eating makes hunger go away, a cloth cover feels warm, liquid relives thirst. Again, these are pure thoughts with no words, but they are important to the beginning of realization of ones self, or at least one’s continued survival.
This was the current situation for the figure that just opened his eyes. The eyes could be described as similar to a cat’s eye, but the exception being instead of two curved irises narrowing to form a vertical elliptical pupil, these eyes had 3 curves. The pupil shape could be described to be shaped like a shark dorsal fin with 3 curved, symmetric sides. The iris itself was very unusual – it was divided into 3 parts, each one resembling the curved blade of a sabre, but also each with their own color. One was green, similar in color to the skin of the figure, but very glossy like green glass, the other two were a brilliant, glowing blood red, and the last one was a deep sky brilliant blue. Outside of the iris, where the white of the eye would be, was a black abyss, that did not seem to reflect light at all, but it had its own glow. Being black but glowing seems contradictory, but black glass with light reflected off it may be create a similar scene. In any case, some things just don’t have words to fit the description – conceptually this could be a completely new “color” itself.
There was noticeable breathing by looking at the fog scattering rhythmically below the nose. The figure was still laying in a fetal position with his eyes open, staring at the same position in space. This went on for a few moments, then the eyes started to move around – looking down, which from the prone figure’s perspective was looking to the right. Then looking up and around. There was an expression of discomfort and confusion on the face of the figure, as he finally lifted his head off the ground. But based on the expression of the figure, this took a lot of effort, like a newborn trying the same action. After struggling to some degree he finally got his head lifted. The discomfort and confused expression never left the face of the figure. Next, he tried to put himself to a sitting position, again showing this was very strenuous. He actually failed the first time as his arms lost their strength during the attempt, and he fell back to the rocky ground, with his head taken the brunt of it. An expression of pain replaced the prior expression for the first time, along with some rapid breathing, but, no scream or shout. Just a small <grunt> from the nose when the head hit. An outside might assume he was “toughing it out”, but that grunt was probably the only expression of pain he could make at this point.
After a few more attempts with increasing partial success, the figure finally ended up sitting upright. The eyes, strange as they were, had the innocence of a newborn. Confusion, with a mix of cautiousness and curiosity, were plastered on the figures face. Some thoughts were starting to be formed as the consciousness of the figure seemed to improve, mainly, “Where is this?” and “What is this?” It was difficult at first to even put these thoughts together, but those thoughts started forming a chain that improved the consciousness even more. Since most of what could be seen was a sea of green fog, the only variable in sight was the rocky place where the figure was. Along with the growing consciousness, the body was recovering as well, along with the concepts of moving. Crawling was first attempted, but it was slow and uncomfortable, but standing and walking soon took presence in the figure’s thoughts. After a few more struggles, he was able to stand, and, again, after several tries, was able to walk, though it was somewhat taxing to do so still.
A basic examination of the surroundings showed what would be considered a path to the interior of the rocky area, the other directions seemed inaccessible, or at least for now they were to a newborn who just learned to walk. He slowly made his way down the path. After an extended period, he walked a short distance of about 200 ft. He was approaching an area where the fog was absent, and the ground smoothed out. The surrounding were still green, but ahead something like a structure, similar to the entrance to the Acropolis, or some big city library, though the columns were 3 sided. It looks like they had some original colors, but those had long faded away, leaving just a slight shading on each face. However, the colors of the faces of the pillars seemed to have been red, green, and blue respectively. Beyond the pillars, there was an entrance to this structure. The entryway was triangular, with the sides rounded. There were some unfamiliar glyphs along each side of the entryway, but if you looked close enough, you would see that they were made from small, rounded triangles. There was no door, but there was some sort of green glow that acted as a screen on the entryway. The area beyond the entryway was blurred and obscure, apparently because of the green screen, but there seemed to be some sort of illumination beyond. The figure was curious about the pillars, but, not finding anything, he walked toward the entryway. Whether it was curiosity or just realizing that there was notable, he approached the entryway. And when he was right up in front of it, he pushed his hand against the screen.
