Trevor felt like he was being electrocuted, with enormous pain going all throughout his body, especially his head. It felt like he had stuck his head in a microwave and turned it on, like his brains were boiling and going to explode. As soon as that thought passed, the situation changed. Or more like, time changed. He still felt “pain”, but it was passing slowly, like a slow replay on a video. His thoughts were slowing down, and his senses were dulling. He was forgetting everything: who he was, what was happening. It would be terrifying if he could think about it, but he couldn’t. He knew this is probably what death is, his mind and soul dissipating like the morning fog. Thinking was almost non-existent. There was no darkness, no light, no sound, even the pain was no longer registering. Trevor was passing into absolute nothingness.
In something that looked like a sea, but made of up glowing green gas that could not be called a sea, there was an undefinable calmness. The gas was slowly moving but very slowly, not fast enough to immediately notice at first glance, but over time you would see how it lifted, sank, undulated, and rolled. There was no sound, nothing like water sloshing or even the wind. The only thing that was noticeable besides the green gas was a rocky “shore” when the green gas ended, though there were wisps of the gas slowly moving through the rocks. If not for how slow and desolate the scene was, you would think it was just fog rolling on the shore, but the glowing green “fog” was just plain creepy from a normal (human) perspective.
Suddenly, just “offshore” from the rocky beach, a flash of bright green occurred in the fog. The abrupt change became even more intense as a vortex, like a whirlpool, formed where the bright light was. The vortex spun faster and faster, growing larger. An illusionary cylinder formed in the vortex, looking like an inverted green glass. The silence was being replaced by a roar like a fierce wind, and the cylinder seemed to be spinning faster in the vortex. A vague shadow could be seen in the cylinder, but nothing recognizable – just a darker green than the cylinder itself.
The cylinder and vortex were spinning faster and faster, and the roar was becoming louder. Suddenly, a violent <crack!> was heard, like the sound of a lightning struck a few feet away. The cylinder showed a change, a large jagged crack was running down the side from top to bottom. Soon, the report of more cracks was heard, and the cylinder was looking like a fractured glass. With a load noise that blasted the vortex away, the cylinder exploded. In the debris, chunks of something could be seen, though it was hard to make out with only green illumination, there was liquid, mist, meat, bones, and other “stuff” thrown into the surrounding green gas, sinking and disappearing into the gas. Then, the calmness returned, and things went back to the way they were before the bright green light appeared, save for some specs of bright green in the areas where all the “stuff” had been launched.
The bright green specs were moving with the gas, and as slow as the gas. Again, not immediately noticeable, but still moving. But, the specs were moving a little differently than the surrounding gas – they were moving toward each other. Slowly, very slowly. Inch by inch. It could be seen after very long while that they were moving to the point where the original bright green glow and cylinder were. Time move on very slowly, the specs still moving toward each other.
When the specs got within a few feet of each other, the situation changed. The gas started spinning where the specs were, accelerating the movement of the specs, and directing them to a central point. Soon, the whirlpool started up again, with the specs in the wall of the whirlpool, but moving toward the bottom of the vortex. It should be noted that this vortex was spinning counter-clockwise, whereas, the first vortex was moving clockwise. The whirlpool was growing brighter and brighter green as it spin faster and faster. The specs had all move to the bottom, and from the bottom of the vortex, a new cylinder started to rise. It looked the same as the one before, but this was very clear, with nothing seen inside it.
When the cylinder has complete risen to the same point the original cylinder had, a green cloud with bright green specs could be seen filling the space inside. Soon, the specs faded, but left behind something, looking something like a painting or sculpture starting to be rendered in the cylinder. Soon, the cylinder flash a bright light, and the vortex started to slow down, as did the cylinder. It seemed similar to a washing machine ending it’s cycle. Soon the vortex completely stopped and the surrounding gas was returning to calm, but there was the cylinder still in place. Again, a long time passed with no apparent changes, other that a shadow in the cylinder seeming to shudder from time to time.
